Patients Set to Return to Roseberry Park Hospital

Patients are due to return back to Roseberry Park Hospital in Spring 2020. After work began to fix the issues uncovered as far back as 2010.

Up to 50 patients were initially moved out in 2017. After a series of structural problems were uncovered at the Westerdale wards on site.

The hospital had a number of fire safety issues, roof defects and structural issues. Including its CCTV, Suppression Systems and Fire Doors after serious failings by contractors.

Work on the Westerdale wards is due to begin in August 2019, with other work already taking place.

Shaun Mayo, from the Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Trust stated;

“A mist system needed to be put into the building because of the fire issues, that has now been completed”
