Nottinghamshire Police Urge Businesses to be Vigilant

On Wednesday 3rd July, Nottinghamshire police warned of a recent rise in commercial burglaries.

Officers are currently investigating 7 thefts between 1st May 2019 and 19th June 2019 in the Bulwell area. Items stolen included cash, laptops, cameras, a CCTV system and other easy to carry items.

Burglary is a priority for Nottinghamshire Police, who have two dedicated police teams focussing their efforts on tackling and reducing burglary around the city and county.

PC Adam Scotney stated;

“If your premises looks insecure to you then it will to a burglar. Consider installing CCTV and an alarm as a deterrent. If you already have an alarm, check that it is working correctly.”

Business crime affects nearly a third of UK businesses every year, costing an estimated £3,000 per victim.
