A man has been arrested for the deliberate fire at a residential flat block in Seaton, Devon.
On Sunday 2nd December, a residential flat was subject to arson. About 80 firefighters from across the county were called to the major blaze in the early hours of the morning.
The residential flat fire, also above a local pub had affected all five floors and caused road closures until it was successfully extinguished, later that day.
The residential flat block housed 15 individual flats, all of which were evacuated upon being alerted to the fire.
Most casualties were treated on-site by paramedics for any injuries, however, one woman was admitted to hospital for closer inspection.
Upon initial inquest, the origin for the fire was unknown. However, shortly after authorities had managed to extinguish the blaze, it became apparent that the flat fire was arson.
A man was subsequently arrested for the suspicion of the deliberate fire with the intent to endanger life.
The full extent of the damage done through the residential flat fire is not yet known. However, reports of a collapsed floor and ceiling were reported by fire crews, the full extent of damages is yet to be investigated.
