A fire broke out within a block of flats in south-west London on Monday 9th September, causing a number of families to lose their homes.

Around 125 firefighters and 20 fire engines attended the incident in Sherbrooke Way, Worcester Park after crews were called at 1.30AM.

Fire alarms were activated in the communal areas. While flames quickly spread to all four floors of the building, which has now been destroyed.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries with all members of the building safely evacuated.

Residents were taken to a local community centre, before a collection was organised for the affected families.

Subsequently an investigation has begun to look into all aspects of the fire by the London Fire Brigade.
