Fire Engines From Across Yorkshire Sent To Huge Manufacturing Blaze

Emergency services across Yorkshire attended a huge blaze that engulfed an industrial plant on Sunday 25th August in Bradford.

The Fire Service has confirmed the fire at Omega Proteins Ltd. A meat processing plant near Denholme was started in an oven used for burning animal waste.

Fairweather Green Fire Service was the first to attend the incident which was finally put out at 1 PM arriving at around 8.14AM.

On arrival, fire crews found that a building 75m * 75m was 75% involved in the fire.

Subsequently, After the blaze, fire fighters remained on scene to dampen down for the rest of the day.

Dean McKenna, Watch Commander for Fairweather Green stated;

“It seems to be one of the ovens. They’ve got three massive ovens and one of the ovens had somehow set on fire”

Appliances from Illingworth, Fairweather Green, Bingley, Halifax, Rastrick, Stanningly, Pontefract, Bradford, Killingbeck, Huddersfield, Skelmanthrope and Otey fire stations all attended.
