Coventry Supermarket Evacuated

A fire broke out on the Alvis retail park, Coventry forcing a Morrison’s supermarket to be evacuated on Saturday 21st September.

The fire which was attended by a unit from Coventry Central Fire station is believed to have taken place in the electrical plant room at the store.

The evacuation took place shortly before 3 pm. Staff had to remain outside in the main car park, while the fire service checked the store.

The store remained closed for over an hour with staff being allowed to go inside at around 4 pm.
