Community Archery Club Suffers Blaze and Burglary

On Tuesday 23rd April 2019, an archery club in Runcorn suffered a devastating blaze after being burgled.

The incident occurred between 10 PM and 1.30 AM, with multiple people being captured on CCTV.

The intruders stole a large number of items, including 10 recurve bows, 4 compound bows, between 50 and 60 arrows, a mountain bike and power tools.

Further damage was caused to the property, with 3 fires being started on site. The Fire Brigade then ripped off the doors to gain entry to the property.

Club owner, Chris Ord released the following statement

“I am quite numb at the moment. There were 3 fires in 3 rooms and every room has been damaged. The new kitchen we had installed recently is covered in soot. When I took over the building we had to invest a lot of money because of previous fire damage. It is now worse than before.”
