Arson Probe After Midlands Factory Fire

On Sunday 18th August 2019, a fire broke out at a former commercial unit on Saltwells Road, Dudley that affected 20% of the building.

The incident occurred at 4.10 AM, with crews from Dudley, Brierley Hill, Haden Cross and Tipton attending the scene within 5 minutes.

The fire ripped through the roof of the factory and charred the timber frames. As a result of the fire West Midlands Police are now treating it as a suspected arson attack.

Overall there are an average of 1,600 deliberate fires started every year, costing businesses an estimated £2.5 Billion. Consequently the after affects sometimes continue for months.
