Springtime is officially underway with temperatures being recorded at nearly 25C. As the seasons change, it is important to check your buildings security.
Here is our quick guide to keep your premises secure this spring.
1. Check The Time on Your CCTV
Whilst clocks went forward in March, check that your CCTV has been updated. The time stamp must be accurate for legal use, videos could potentially be thrown out if they do not display the correct date and time or worse yet, no date or time at all.
2.Ensure Your CCV Brightness And Contrast Settings Have Been Adjusted
As the year progresses and the suns rays get brighter, it is important to remember to adjust the contrast settings on your recording equipment. Failure to do this may result in out of focus images and potential incidents going unnoticed.
3.Provide Clear Visibility For Your CCTV Cameras
Bushes, Flowers and Trees spring back into life when the weather warms up, this can provide an obstruction to your CCTV cameras. Check that you have clear visibility on your cameras.
4.Close Your Windows At The End Of The Day
As the weather warms up, it is only natural to open the windows and get some fresh air in the building. However, open windows allow intruders easy access to the site. While your building maybe monitored during the evening, theft during the day time is often increased due to open windows.
5.Securely Store Any Unused Equipment
As the year goes on, it is easy for your premises to become a storage ground for unused equipment. Ensure this is stored in a secure building and not on show. If an intruder can see an easy opportunity they are more likely to break onto your premises.
