Did you know that it’s recommended that at least 30% of your staff should be trained as fire wardens?
What is a fire warden?
A designated person within an organisation who assists in the evacuation process in the workplace in the case of a fire outbreak or a drill. The purpose of a fire warden is to lead co-workers and visitors during the emergency situation, bearing in mind the premises risks, which have already been assessed through their Fire Warden Training and the workplace Fire Risk Assessment. Furthermore, a fire warden would also benefit from being trained on the use of the fire safety equipment, that has been provided in the workplace.
Why do I need fire warden training?
People, like fires, can be uncontrollable and unpredictable. Who knows how individuals will react in the event of an emergency such as a fire. Therefore, if you have an allocated and trained person with fire warden safety training, this will help in a smoother, safer and lower risk evacuation.
