The Data Protection Act Code of Practice for CCTV states that CCTV systems should be regularly maintained and have a maintenance contract in place from an approved company, in order to clear recorded images. A maintenance schedule will also ensure your CCTV system is kept fully operational.

  4 hour response to all call-outs. We can be on-site for any call-out within 4 hours of receiving notification. However, 98% of call-out sites are reached within 2 hours, and a large percentage are dealt with over the phone at no additional cost.

What Does a Maintenance Visit Include?

Inspection

  • Check whether the customer has experienced any problems with the system
  • Carry out a visual inspection of all major components for signs of deterioration or damage, and rectify as necessary

CCTV systemsCameras

  • Examine supporting brackets and towers for signs of corrosion and damage
  • Check cameras and housings for deterioration due to rain, dust and dirt
  • Check that field of view is correct
  • Check that all camera bracket fittings and clamping bolts are tight
  • Check that lenses are correctly focussed
  • Check operation of auto-iris lenses
  • Clean housing windows
  • Check that washer bottles are full
  • Check operation, blade condition and parking of wiper unit, adjusting stop position
  • Check condition of pan/tilt unit, adjusting position of end stops and presets
  • Check operation of infra-red units

Monitors

  • Check physical condition and cable connections
  • Check operation of controls and adjust for best picture

Controls

  • Check physical condition and cable connections
  • Check switchers and multiplex controllers, including external alarm interfaces
  • Check time/date settings and adjust
  • Check operation of telemetry controllers

Video Controllers

  • Check hours run indicator and recommend for removal for service as appropriate
  • Check condition as necessary
  • Check operation controls and make a test recording
  • Check time/date settings and adjust
  • Check that timelapse setting is correct

A service call report sheet will be completed during your maintenance visit, which will record any deficiencies to the system and recommend work required to maintain a fully operational, compliant fire alarm system.
