Assured join the Fire Industry Association

Our managing Director Simon Stokes recently attended the Annual General Meeting for The Fire Industry Association or FIA after we recently were accepted as members.

The FIA is a new trade association formed by the merger of two leading associations within the fire protection industry: Fire Extinguishing Trades Association (FETA), established in 1916 and responsible for the manufacture and maintenance of portable fire fighting equipment and the British Fire Protection Systems Association, established in 1966 and the co-ordinating body for the UK Fire Systems Industry.

Various fire safety companies and bodies are members of the FIA and attend these events to maintain and raise the levels of the fire safety industry, lobbying parliament for fire safety changes, meeting with fire brigades, updating British Standards, testing equipment and various other tasks are carried out to ensure a level of service is provided.

The afternoon was pleasantly finished off by our MD being nominated on the service council. These two associations have long shared the common interest of upholding and enhancing the professional status of the UK Fire Industry. Assured Fire & Security is proud to be associated with the FIA, further assuring our customers that we comply and work to Fire Safety Standards.
