Where & what type of fire extinguishers do I use ??
Premises such as offices, warehouses.
The majority of premises will require a water or foam extinguisher as Class A & Class B fire risks are in most of today's premises, this should be coupled with a special risk fire extinguisher such as Co2 for electrical fires
Further cover for canteens, kitchens should have a Powder extinguisher & a fire blanket for Class C risks.
The above should be installed in the correct positions to cover the appropriate area (to be completed by a fire safety expert).
Premises such as factories, schools, chemical plats, petrol stations
For premises that have different fire risks like chemicals, metals, large amounts of flammable gas & oils then additional extinguishers are required.
The above arrangement of foam, water & Co2 will be required plus additional extinguishers & usually larger sizes are required according to the risk.
More powders of a larger size, special extinguishers like Wet Chemical for large kitchens with big fat fryers & numerous other risks are required to be covered.
In all circumstance we highly recommend you contact our fire safety experts to determine your requirements
