The Fire Industry Association (FIA)
Introducing the FIA
The Fire Industry Association (FIA) is a new trade association formed by the merger of two leading associations within the fire protection industry: Fire Extinguishing Trades Association (FETA), established in 1916 and responsible for the manufacture and maintenance of portable fire fighting equipment and the British Fire Protection Systems Association, established in 1966 and the co-coordinating body for the UK Fire Systems Industry.
The work of the FIA
Various fire safety companies and bodies are members of the FIA and attend meetings to maintain and raise the levels of the fire safety industry, lobbying parliament for fire safety changes, meeting with fire brigades, updating British Standards, testing equipment and various other tasks are carried out to ensure a level of service is provided.
Proud council members

Our Managing Director Simon Stokes sits on the Services Council for the FIA, who meet every quarter to discuss and improve standards within the fire industry.
