Addressable Fire Alarm Systems
Addressable fire alarm systems transmit data over the detection circuit which provides you with detailed information. The main advantage of an addressable fire system over a normal conventional system is that each detector has an individual identification number and this number will then be assigned an address, e.g. 'Smoke detector 17 - rear store Zone 7'.
By having a detector with its own address, any fire or fault can be quickly identified by your staff and the fire brigade, allowing people to escape via the safest route. Another advantage is that the parameters of each detector can be set from the main panel. This means the sensitivity of the detector can be programmed to the times it operates and also what it operates.
Cause and effects
Cause and effects is an option on most addressable fire alarm systems which allows you to program in a pattern of actions in the event that one of the detectors is triggered.
If, for example, a detector on the third floor is activated then you may want only the sounders on this floor to go into full alarm and sounders in other areas to go into alert. This can avoid the disruption of mass evacuations or save time if a false alarm occurs.
Another example would be the operation of building interfaces where a detector could be placed in a switch room cabinet and if the detector is triggered then the fire alarm interface could shut down the switch cabinet.
Pre-alarm
False alarms can create unnecessary costs and disruptions for businesses, especially when a full evacuation occurs. Pre-alarms can provide protection against a false alarm as the detector can give a pre-warning at the main panel without operating the sounders which can give staff time to investigate a false alarm or potential fire. The detector will still operate if it senses a fire.
Remote diagnostics
Remote diagnostics means we can dial into your system from our office and examine the control panel for any issues. With remote diagnostics we can solve problems immediately and without an engineer needing to be called out.
Remote control
Addressable fire systems can have repeater panels which mimic the information and controls of the main control panel and therefore provide control of the entire fire system across your premises.
